Terms of Service and community guidelines
Terms of Service
Effective October 11, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and LineUp. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read the community guidelines in section 4 in particular; they're what keeps LineUp a good place to find a dance.
LineUp is made by Flynn Peterson, an independent developer in the United States ("we" and "us"). Questions go to support@lineupdance.app.
1. You must be 18 or older
LineUp is for adults. By creating an account, you confirm that you're at least 18. We'll delete any account we learn belongs to someone younger.
2. Your account
- One account per person. Give accurate information, and don't pretend to be someone else.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Delete my account.
3. What LineUp is, and isn't
LineUp lists venues, dance nights, classes and dances, most of them added by dancers, instructors and hosts. We check new listings and act on reports, but we can't guarantee that every time, price or detail is correct, or that a night hasn't been canceled. Check with the venue before you travel.
We don't run, host or supervise any venue, night, class or meetup listed in the app, and we aren't responsible for what happens there. When you meet people from LineUp, use the same care you would anywhere: meet in public places and look out for each other.
4. Community guidelines
LineUp has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. These rules apply to everything you post or send: your profile, listings, reviews, photos, crew chat, polls, links and reports. Don't post or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful or discriminatory, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- is sexually explicit, or makes unwanted sexual comments or advances;
- is violent, or encourages violence or self-harm;
- shares someone's private information, such as their address, phone number or photos, without their permission;
- impersonates a person, venue or business, or misleads people about who you are;
- is spam, a scam, or advertising unrelated to dancing;
- is a fake or deliberately inaccurate listing or review;
- infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, such as uploading another person's photo or a full step sheet;
- breaks the law, or encourages someone else to.
5. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report anything that breaks these rules from the item itself in the app, for example Report this message.
- Block anyone you don't want to hear from. They can't send you friend requests, you won't see their messages in crew chats, and you won't appear to each other in searches or on lists of who's going.
- We review reports within 24 hours. When content breaks these rules, we remove it, and we suspend or delete the account that posted it.
We may also remove content or suspend accounts on our own when we find something that breaks these rules. If you think we got it wrong, email us.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give LineUp a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and share it in the app and on lineupdance.app, so that it can be shown to the people you've shared it with.
Some things you add are for everyone: venues, nights, dances, links, song suggestions, set lists and venue photos. Those stay in LineUp after you delete your account, without your name, because other dancers rely on them. Your profile, messages, reviews and personal lists are deleted with your account. The account deletion page has the full list.
Only post things you have the right to share, including photos you took or have permission to use.
7. Step sheets and other sites
LineUp doesn't host step sheets. It links to the choreographer's own sheet, or to sites such as CopperKnob, whose dance information is shown with credit and a link back. Content on those sites belongs to their owners and is covered by their own terms. We aren't responsible for other websites the app links to.
8. Using LineUp fairly
Don't misuse the app or the services behind it. That means no scraping or bulk copying of listings or profiles, no bots or automated accounts, no getting around limits or security features, and nothing that disrupts LineUp for other people.
9. Changes to the app
LineUp is free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering LineUp, though we'll give you notice in the app first where we can.
10. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using LineUp and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, or if we have to in order to protect other people or comply with the law.
11. Disclaimers and limits on liability
LineUp is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available, accurate or free of errors.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for anything that happens at a venue, event or meetup you found through LineUp. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. App stores
If you downloaded LineUp from Apple's App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to your download. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and they aren't responsible for LineUp or its content. If you downloaded LineUp from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app itself.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using LineUp after that, the new terms apply.
